Internships?

I am looking for a summer internship. I can get one at 'Chicago Recording Company'. I am interested because I will be staying in Chicago!! I'll get to take in the night life and local bands and hopefully make some awesome connections!!

[C.R.C. is a recording studio that a lot of artist use to create their albums. I am very interested in seeing how they are going to have to change their business because of new technologies and file sharing capabilities. Check it out -> CRC]

IDEAS, THOUGHTS, & CONCERNS

I am a DJ for an internet radio station. It is run by Ohio State students but isn't funded by Ohio State- go figure. We not only have to come up with a way to get people to listen but have to figure out a way to stay ALIVE! In order to do this we are currently trying to rework the whole thing. An idea was thrown around that a social site could really add hits to our site as well as potential listeners. If bands could log on and create a profile people could have access to them and their material. They can rate them based on things like performance, musicality, and appearance.
The higher the overall ranking the more we play them. People can also submit bands they really like. It can also work as a instant calendar of events. If someone is looking to find a good band, concert, or event all they have to do is use the site.
These are all just our basic ideas. We don’t really have a game plan yet and we are still in the process of working it all out. But the goal is to create an underground movement where pop music isn’t shoved down our throats; where people choose what music is popular because it’s good not because it is going to make some record label mega-bucks!! Sound Expirement

In my quest of making OHIO.fm a successful project I created this... I am not proud of it- but this is what I have been working on. It is a step in the right direction- but it still need a lot of work. I need to create something with no voice in the background and something with higher quality. Can't wait for better things in the future!!

Moving Mountains

I am in the process of a up hill battle. The battle consists of unifying everyone involved in Ohio.fm and getting them to do something for nothing. It is very hard to rely on people that aren't getting paid. It's all for the love of the game baby!! I created some forms and left them at the station and by the end of the week I'm hoping that everyone takes part in them. It is going to take a lot of work to make this station- well work. We need promotion, advertising, networking, publicity, formating- you name it. (Not to mention a whole make-over from the inside out) Yes, we got a very interesting road ahead, but I couldn't be more EXCITED!! ... in the mean time, does anyone have any ideas where to start?

UpLoaDing SoUNd

A while back I created something on garageband (it was my ex boyfriend's apple..) and I put it up on myspace. Well, I no longer have the file and the only place I have it stored is myspace- so this is a bit of a problem. How can I improve, work on it, or even share it without the file? It would be nice if you could copy the file or find someway to download it- nope. I should have used one of those free audio storing places and uploaded my songs there. I guess I'm going to have to start over- because, let's face it- duplication sucks.

PODCASTING!

So making my podcast has turned out to be a lot more difficult than expected. Who am I kidding, I knew there was going to be some sort of wrench in the machine. So currently I am working on that wonderful project. I'm actually really excited because now I can podcast my radio shows. On Ohio.fm I DJ from 6-8 every Wednesday. It is an internet radio station so if you are away from your computer at those times you miss me. This will allow people to hear my show anytime, anywhere. I am stoked! Now all I got to do is figure this thing out.

ALL LINKS WORK!! I still have to make some adjustments but overall I am pleased! Check them out and give me feedback!!

Okay, so... I was going for a sort of- THIS IS WHO I AM- WHAT I AM MADE OF kind of thing. I don't think I succeeded. Back to the drawing board. Literally.

Header ache

Okay, so the header is giving me a headache! I've been working on this during class time because I don't have a mac at home. Honestly, I think I am going to put up something plain and focus more on all my other tasks because this just isn't going to be done over night. Hopefully I will get inspiration at a later date. Anyone have any ideas?

Creating a Job Opening

I work at Ohio State Calling as a student administrative assistant. Basically I call alumni and train new callers. It is our job to maintain a positive relationship with alumni while accepting gifts to various fund for the University. Currently I am working on a proposal that will hopefully increase my pay and responsibilities. It is almost finished and I am giving it to the program manager today. I am hoping to post it soon. I have never written a proposal before and I looked up how to do via google search.

This blog is still in its beginning stages but I see great things happening in the next couple weeks. I have a direction and I have some inspiration and that my friends is really all you need. I am working on networking my blog. I am going to create accounts on other web sites and social sites and link them back here. This opens be up to a how range of new opportunities. Plus it diversifies my capabilities.
Soon I will have separate sites that will show case my songs, writings, videos, and pictures.

I can't seem to get this blog how I want it. I read that the blogger team is having some problems with uploading images lately? All I know is that I have tried almost everything in order to get my Header uploaded with no success. I finally got the 3rd column added, but then took it down because I thought maybe that is the reason I suddenly lost all my widgets and image capabilities... but I reversed it and nothing changed unfortunately.

I am very design oriented (obviously) and I'm buggin out about my setup right now!! Any body have any advice??

Not too happy...

I can't see to get this blog how I want it. I read that the blogger team is having some problems with uploading images lately? All I know is that I have tried almost everything in order to get my Header uploaded with no success.

On a more positive note, I finally got the 3rd column added! I am very design oriented (obviously) and I'm buggin out about my setup right now!! Any body have any advice??

Last Year Ohio State Marion had an event called "It's Showtime" where students competed from $$. I came in second! I got $400 which isn't bad. I love to sing and since this is one only video's I have of me doing it I decided to post it. It's not the best quality but It's what I got.. well, for now ;)

Practice.. Kind of

'A little of that creative flow' with Justin and Nate of the jam band Jahman Brahman. I've been doing gigs here and there with them for the past couple months. I'm down for any kind of music- whatever, whenever- always. This is what it's typically like when I go over to Justin's for practice. It's very laid back and usually goofing around ensues. haha

HUH? so what is this blog about?

Okay, Well I am slowly getting the hang of this. The hardest part for me is figuring out what in the world this blog is about. I am not focused on any one thing in my life, rather on a plethora of projects, dreams, and aspirations. It's good and bad which is life- you have to take both. So, coming to this realization I decided I will use this as a dream catcher so to speak. Every project that is in my life I am going to report on and use this as a sort of workshop for myself. I am doing this for a class to push me the limits of what a blog is capable of- so why not apply it to all forms of my life. It's all about personalization right? Well, I guess it's also about being relatable, which is why I plan on leaving a road map- so if anyone else is like me or is just interested in something that I am doing or I have done they can use this as a resource- well, honestly it will probably go both ways.

"Why Blog? What's the point?"

I know a lot of people (including myself) that really don't understand blogging. They think its a place for you to write down meaningless "stuff" where only you and a select few ever go back and read it. Now if you say you have your own website- BAM! there is the respect you're looking for. Now, I realize you can do a lot with a blog- have pictures, video's, sound, tons of widgets, comments, games, links, pages, make $$- almost everything you can do with a website, only less complicated, a little smaller, and with no cost. So who is smarter, someone that makes a website and pays a domain fee -or- someone that creates a blog and utilizes all their possible resources making money without any cost to themselves? Don't bother- (its rhetorical)
